Corporate ProgramsIndustry Institute Interaction

For greater all-round technical and management proficiency, it is both necessary and desirable to supplement the knowledge base through programs to reinforce communication and various other special skills to the students. Besides to meet the challenges posed by rapidly expanding horizon of knowledge, it is academically prudent to forge strategic alliances with leaders of academic and corporate world.

The institution has initiated following measures:

  • MOU with Infosys Technologies Ltd. for Campus Connect Program which includes
    Faculty enablement
    Students training
    Project support
    Support for library
    Industrial visit
    Faculty sabbatical

     

  • MOU with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
    The team from TCS visited the campus on November 29th , 2007, to have  on- spot review of infrastructure, quality teaching learning process and other related parameters required to be a premier Technical Institution. And after rigorous evaluation by its expert team, accredited our Institute and in the process recruited 76 of our 2009 batch students.

  • Nihango Bashi (P) Ltd. Singapore/Bangalore:
    MOU with Nihongo Bashi for Japanisation Program. During this program students are not only trained for Japanese language but also made aware of Japanese culture to make them comfortable for Japanese assignments . 65 students are already working on various projects in Japan, who have been recruited by HCL,Yahama etc.

  • MOU with National Entrepreneurship Network, NEN:
    This envisages the workshops by leading entrepreneurs and the faculty from IIM, Bangalore, IIT ,Bombay and Stanford University, orientation and initiation to students to take up challenges.

  • MOU with Pixtel Media Technology (P) Ltd.:
    It includes mentorship program 40 students have been selected and divided into 5 groups for their mentorship program according to the industrial parameters. Each group has been allocated a live project.

  • MOU with British Council Division and University of Cambridge, UK for British Education Council

  • MOU with Wipro Technologies Ltd. for Mission 10 X

  • MOU with Utkarsh Foundation

Infosys Campus Connect Aspirations2020
Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology is amongst the 150 short-listed institutions all over India and 26 in Northern India by Infosys Technologies Ltd. to celebrate Aspirations2020 which is a platform for students to prepare themselves to become Global Professionals. These contests under aspirations2020 will encourage the spirit of competitiveness and accelerate learning through extra curricular activities, within the student community. This is an extremely important event which will help students towards becoming global professionals.

Aspirations2020 contests will include the following Internet technology assisted events:
  • The Programming contest - To foster problem solving & algorithmic thinking abilities
  • The Paper Presentation – Enhances articulation and presentation abilities
  • The Quiz – Sharpens general industry awareness
  • The Distinguished Student - Recognizes versatility.

 

Corporate Interaction
  • Mr. Shailender Kumar Gaur, Asst. Prof. Computer Science and Mr. Nihar Ranjan Roy, Lecturer, Computer Science attended Train The Trainer Program at Infosys Campus, Chandigarh from 27 – 29 May’08
  • Mr. Tarun Singh, Sr. Lecturer, Information Technology and Ms. Himdweep Khurana Lecturer, Computer Science attended Faculty Enablement Program at Thapar University, Phagwara, Punjab.
  • Prof. P.N. Koul attended Campus Leap Program conducted by Wipro Technology on January 25th – 26th, 2008.
  • A Workshop on GIS & IT conducted by the experts from TCS, the November 19th, 2008 for students and  faculties.
  • A Webinar by Satyam Computer Services Ltd. under Campus Linked Initiative Program held on November 21st, 2008 on STRUTS Framework. Mr. Aniban Pal was the co moderator of the Webinar.
  • Prof. P.N. Koul, Director-CPDD and Prof. Parmanand, HOD-CSE, attended Principal Meet, under Campus Connect Program at Infosys Campus, Chandigarh on February 22nd Feb’09.
  • A Webinar on Aspiration 2020 by Infosys Technologies Ltd. under Campus Connect Program held on January 27th, 2009.
  • Dr. Sarju Devi, Sr. Lecturer and Ms. Prity Tiwari, Sr. Lecturer, Deptt. of ASH, attended Soft Skills Workshop conducted by Infosys Technologies Ltd. under Campus Connect Program held on February 11th – 13th , 2009 at Infosys Campus, Chandigarh.
  • A webinar on Aspiration 2020 by Infosys Technologies Ltd. under Campus Connect Program held on February 19th, 2009.
  • Mr. Sudhir Mishra, HR-North & West Region, Campus Hiring, Infosys Technologies Ltd., Bangalore a top ranking individual who is a leader in his respective field to address the students and faculty of GCET on “The review of current scenario in IT Sector
  • GCET faculty attended "Faculty Development Program" under MISSION 10X conducted by Wipro Technologies Ltd. on August 17th – 21st, 2009.
  • Infosys Technologies Ltd. conducted “Focus Group Discussion” for selected students of 2009 passed out batch and five students from final year (2010 batch) through Video Conferencing on Monday, August 17th, 2009.
  • TCS conducted a workshop on “Application of Information Security and Risk Management” for final year CS / IT students on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009
  • Infosys Technologies Ltd. conducted a webinar on “Network Programming using Sockets” on Thursday, September 17th, 2009. Mr. Tanmoy Bandyopadhyay, Infosys Technologies Ltd. was the moderator.
  • GCET faculty attended “Insight Ver 2.0” workshop conducted by Infosys Technologies Ltd. under Campus Connect Program held on October 28th – 29th, 2009 at Infosys Campus, Chandigarh.
  • Utkarsh Foundation conducted a corporate lecture “Udaan: Journey from Campus to Corporate”, Dr. K.K. Singh, Chief Manager- HR, Escorts Ltd. delivered the lecture on November 5th, 2009 (Thursday).
