The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is headed by Prof. Parmanand Astya, who has his B.Tech. (CS) & M.Tech. (CS) from IIT Delhi and has more than 17 years of experience in teaching and industry. The Department has highly experienced and talented faculty from IITs, NITs and other reputed technological institutions. It has specialized group of faculty having specialization in Computer Graphics, Software Engineering, Cryptography, Multimedia, Artificial Intelligence, Database and Networking etc. The Department is having modern Labs and lecture rooms fitted with LCD projector.

The department strives to inculcate engineering skills in its undergraduate students. Whereas acquisition of conceptual knowledge and conceptual reasoning is important, the department believes that real value is provided when these are implemented to build real products. This belief drives the department in laying stress on problem solving skills in tutorials and engineering skills in the laboratory.

Advances in computer science and engineering are the basis of the formation of the emerging knowledge based society. To contribute effectively in its formation, the department does research in the cutting edge areas of Networking, Image Processing, requirements engineering, method and process engineering. Students are registered to do their Ph.D. work in these areas.

We are the first College in the UPTU system to have received affiliation for M.Tech. program in Computer Science & Engineering. As such we have been actively involved in the formulation of the curriculum and design of courses for this program.

Research

To impart good quality undergraduate engineering education, the department focuses on development of practical and application oriented minds. It is our attempt to make students learn by doing rather than by rote learning of topics and subjects. Every year, many students join US Universities higher studies.
