The Department of Information Technology is headed by Prof. Vivek Kumar who has wide range of experience in industry, teaching and administration. He is post-graduate in Engg. from BITS, Pilani and Doctorate in Engg. from Faculty of Engineering, Dayalbagh Education Institute, Deemed University, Agra. He is having 15 years experience. His area of experience is in Artificial intelligence and soft computing techniques. He has published many international research papers and has attended many conferences and seminars. He has guided 32 B.Tech. and MCA level projects. He has supervised 8 M.Tech. dissertations and is guiding three Ph.D. student in the field of aspect oriented designs. Prof. Kumar is a member of IEEE and is a member of the board of studies of many reputed institutes and industry.

The department of Information Technology offers doctoral, postgraduate and under graduate programmes in Information Technology. We do research in various domains like Software Engineering, Networks, Intelligent Systems and IT infrastructure management Ph.D. scholars associated with faculty members of the department are doing research in expert systems, aspect oriented designs and ATM technologies. The department has started M.Tech. (IT) and is the only College affiliated to UPTU to offer this programme. The aim of M.Tech. (IT) is to produce specialized engineers in development of computer based systems. The second batch of M.Tech. (IT) shall be admitted in the year 2007-2008.

To impart good quality undergraduate engineering education, the department focuses on development of practical and application oriented minds. It is our attempt to make students learn by doing rather than by rote learning of topics and subjects. Every year, many students join US Universities for imparting further studies. We, at department are very much particular in choosing best destinations for student's summer and industrial training. Many students have gone overseas to conduct their industrial training.

All seven laboratories of department are powered by latest technology. Department enjoys 24 hrs Internet connectivity on high speed LAN network and supported by WLAN network too. It also enjoys support online IEEE journal, which is accessible by students and faculty members. Class rooms of the department are well equipped online projection facility.
