Dr. Neeta Awasthy, Prof. & Head of the department of Electronics & Communication Engineering joined the department in Feb. 2006. She has done B.Tech. from H.B.T.I., Kanpur and Ph.D. from U.P.Technical University. With an experience of 9 years in consultancy, and 11 years in teaching, she has research interests in Digital Signal Processing, Artificial Neural Network, Biomedical Electronics, Energy Management and Knowledge Management. She has published many research papers in reputed International Journal and Conferences and also chaired a few of them. She is editor of a reputed international Journal also. She is a member of various professional bodies as Executive Council Member of IEEE, U.P. Section- 80138209, Fellow of Institution of Electronics & Telecomm. Engineers -2136, Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education-44031, Life Member of Computer Society of India – 0011366 and reviewer in International Journal of Computer Intelligence and Bioinformatics.

She is guiding several M.Tech. and Ph.D. thesis. She is also  a resource person in M.Tech. programme of UPTU, Lucknow and a resource person to NTPC, Power Management Institute, Noida.

The department has U.G programs running since the year 2000 and PG programs running since the year 2006. The students are encouraged for curricular and co-curricular activities. GNIX, the students’ society has chapters in various colleges in NCR, which is known for its ROBOTICS activities (Gladiator) in the region. The students have earned positions and accolades from IITs and Govt. Engineering colleges too. All PG and some UG students have published papers in International journals and conferences. Every year, the students qualify GATE, CAT, MAT, TOEFLE, GRE. They go abroad, study further or get placements in various prestigious organizations. The alumini is also very strong.
