The department of Mechanical Engineering is the most significant core branch of engineering which has to contribute the maximum infrastructure development not only of the Nation but at the global scenario. It has to play a significant role in building the nation in the context of various challenging global scenario, particularly in reference ENVIRONMENT.
Galgotias best known to be the premium Institute, obviously this department is the highest esteem for the management. The frontline developments are in transport, aviation, heavy industries and power generation in particular. To meet these challenges, the department has excellent infrastructural inputs, in terms of latest version of equipment in laboratories.
Reference may be made to the Vision-2020 authored by the living legend Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Hence the objective before us is to produce the graduates in Mechanical Engineering who can take the burden in meeting the challenge before the Nation. It is needless to emphasize that CAD/CAM, Material Science covering Nanotechnology and Cryogenics are to be brought in our curriculum. To meet these challenges and cater in the academic requirements, the department has a contingent of well qualified and talented faculty having rich experience in pedagogy. The base is already there and it is our endeavor that the department starts Post-Graduate courses bringing in all these advanced and much needed areas of immediate use.
Apart from the curriculum, faculty is also fully aware of these components in Mechanical Engineering and as such, we are tightening our belt to train the students in class–room teaching as well as in the Project work. It is with this aim & objective that we are interacting with the Industry also. Frequently eminent personalities from industries, premier research and academic institutions are invited for delivering lectures through seminar series also encourage students for their bright carrier goals.
