Innovations by the Faculty in Teaching and Learning

    S. No Faculty Involved Course Code Course Name Name of the Innovative Approach Description Proof Feedback
Mr. Sudhir Kumar Parmar RCE 502 Design of Structures-1 Explore level of Students PROCESS: In lectures and especially in tutorials, the students are given a problem to solve and their copies are analysed to assess correctness of solutions. The levels of difficulty of the students are identified and students are taught at the level of their difficulty in the tutorial classes. IMPACT: The impact is remarkable as the students are addressed at their level of difficulty and if they lack even in the basics, the basics are taught again to move in the positive direction. 2 Mr. F. I. Kirmani RCE-302 Surveying -I Explaining with practical implications PROCESS: The students are asked fundamental questions and persuaded to answer. The students are given ample time to explore and answer. Usually the hints are given so that students move in a positive direction to answer. IMPACT: This process invokes a process to think, explore and identify the approach to find a solution of a given problem. The impact is quite visible to inculcate a desire among the students to attempt a solution. PDF Document Static Feedback to be displayed
Dr. Tinku Biswas RCE-501 Geotechnical Engineering Explore the concept PROCESS: Concept of important topics is not taught in the straight forward manner. The students are asked a series of questions and through this series of questions, the students help themselves to develop the concept. IMPACT: The concept developed is remembered for a long time and the students are not required to forcefully digest the concept. PDF Document Static Feedback to be displayed
Mr. Md. Nuruzamma RCE-301 BMC Develop a rational approach PROCESS: Books provides the solution of the problems in different way than the approach in which problems are attempted. Solutions are discussed in a well-defined manner in which systematically the students proceed for a solution.                                      IMPACT: The students often develop a correct approach to find a solution of the problems. PDF Document Static Feedback to be displayed
Dr. Amir Khan RCE 702 Water Resources Engineering Defining a well framed approach to a set of questions of a topic PROCESS: A well-defined approach is carved for a set of questions of a topic. This approach helps the students to systematically analyse a problem. IMPACT: This approach is especially helpful for the students who find it difficult to think rationally. PDF Document Static Feedback to be displayed
Dr. Rajni Saggu NCE 501 Geotechnical Engineering Sessions of questions by the students PROCESS: During the lectures and tutorials, students are assigned a session to ask any question on the subject matter related with the topics being taught. Students are persuaded to ask questions. Other students are asked to answer these questions. Teacher answers in case these questions are not answered by any student. IMPACT: This question answer session invokes a desire among the students to in-depth analysis and curiosity. PDF Document Static Feedback to be displayed
Dr. Praveen Berwal RCE 061 Foundation Design Revision and summarisation of the concepts often PROCESS: While proceeding and explaining the course content, a summary of the concepts taught up to date is made to revise the concepts. IMPACT: This process helps a lot to the students who are comparatively less focused. PDF Document Static Feedback to be displayed
Mr. Vinoth P. NOE 081 Non-Conventional Energy Resources Use of NPTEL lectures PROCESS: The lectures of NPTEL are used to enhance the level of understanding the subject content being taught. IMPACT: Students find it refreshing and helpful to often switching to NPTEL lectures. Video Lectures Static Feedback to be displayed
Mrs. Meenu Kalra RCE 601 Design of Structures-II Explaining the practical implications PROCESS: Faculty elaborate practical implications of the theoretical concepts and how the concepts need to implement on the ground as a Civil Engineer. IMPACT: It generates significant interests in the students and help students to be more focused. PDF Document Static Feedback to be displayed
Mr. Mohd Obaid Qamar RCE 503 Quantity Estimation and Management Use of power point presentations and video lectures PROCESS: Students focus in understanding the subject content with these audio-visual aids. IMPACT: Impact is significant in using audio-visual aids. PPT & Video Lectures Static Feedback to be displayed
