Lord Vishnu in a sacred book of ancient times named Bhagavad Gita says that whenever there will be any dominance of evil in the society and the decline of the religion, I will reincarnate in this world to kill and remove the evil and also to protect the good. The main significance of this festival lies in encouraging the goodwill and discouraging the bad will. Krishna Janmashtami is also celebrated for the togetherness. As per academic calendar, clubs of various departments organizes their departmental fest every academic year. The following are the detail of few departmental fests held in year 2018-19:
Civil Engineering department organized an inter-college technical and cultural festival on 5thApril 2019. The fest started with GaneshVandana and various technical events like Bridge-mania, model making, concrete cube testing etc. were conducted. Cultural events like dance performance, singing, drama etc were also held. After the events, prizesand certificates were distributed to the winners.
i) Farewell
Every year, third year students bid adieu to final year students and wish them good luck for the coming opportunities. This year, passing out batches were invited to cherish the four year journey on May 1st, 2019. Titles were given to final year students by their juniors followed by Ms. and Mr. Farewell. Event concluded with DJ night.
ii) Fresher’s Party
GCET welcomed the first year with great enthusiasm on 31st August, 2018. Galgotias Student Council along with vigorous support of the college management organized one of the grand event of the college which was Fresher’s 2k18. It started off with the freshers showcasing their talents on stage and then various titles were distributed.

In India, there are five days declared as Martyrs' Day (at national level also known as Sarvodaya day). They are named in honor of those who are recognized as martyrs for the nation. Every year, on March 23, Martyr’s Day or Shaheed Diwas is observed in memory of three freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev were hanged ll death on March 23, 1931, in Lahore jail by the colonial British. ACES Club organized a heartfelt homage for these warriors. Born on September 28, 1907 in Punjab in British India, Bhagat Singh is a well-known freedom fighter who was a revolutionary socialist and played a crucial role during the Indian freedom struggle. All faculty and students were present during the ceremony. HOD Mam also spoke a few words on the occasion and the sacrifice of the warriors. ‘Any sacrifice will be inadequate to accomplish the greatest aim of freeing the motherland’. Today is the day when these three great revolutionaries laid down their lives in their effort to achieve their goal ! Following the ideology of these warriors, we concluded the ceremony with the idea.
