Expert Lecture On Fuzzy Logic In Engineering Applications

IT Department along with Fusion Society members conducted a workshop on ‘Fuzzy Logic in Engineering Applications’ on 14th Feburary, 2020. The expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Arun Sharma, Head of IT Department from Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for women, New Delhi.

Dr. Arun Sharma, alumni of IIT Roorkee and Thapar University has demonstrated his intellectual, interpersonal and managerial skills with vast teaching experience in various reputed Govt. and Private Institutions with the role ranging from Lecturer to Professor to Head of the Department within a span of 21 years.

He told how fuzzy logic is extremely useful for many people involved in research and development including engineers (electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, aerospace, agricultural, biomedical, computer, environmental, geological, industrial, and mechatronics), mathematicians, computer software developers and researchers, natural scientists, public policy analysts, business analysts, and jurists.

Applications of fuzzy logic, once thought to be an obscure mathematical curiosity, can be found in many engineering and scientific works. Fuzzy logic has been used in numerous applications such as facial pattern recognition, air conditioners, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, antiskid braking systems, transmission systems, control of subway systems and unmanned helicopters, knowledge-based systems for multi objective optimization of power systems, weather forecasting systems, models for new product pricing or project risk assessment, medical diagnosis and treatment plans, and stock trading. Also it has been successfully used in numerous fields such as control systems engineering, image processing, power engineering, industrial automation, robotics, consumer electronics, and optimization. This branch of mathematics has instilled new life into scientific fields that have been dormant for a long time.

Sharing knowledge and experience on the topic, Dr. Arun gave an entralling experience to the audience which lasted for two hours with utmost zeal and gusto. He interacted with relishness and gave all the students knowledge to cherish, ideas to work upon and new perspectives to think on. The workshop was an overall exotic boom for the audience.

    Women Empowerment(NUKKAD NATAK)

Women empowerment indicates shaping women powerful to create them proficient in taking decisions for themselves. Women have undergone a lot over the year in this men dominating society. But with the unfolded time, women understood their powers and talks like WOMEN EMPOWERMENT started there only. After 72 years of independence, the thoughts are the same towards women.

Fusion society performed a NUKKAD NATAK to indicate these major issues of the society towards women. Because change starts with you and me. To change, that believes a small initiative from our members.

Members of fusion society created four small NATAK that was representing the condition of women in society. Mainly emphasizing on all that harassment and violence they have to face in this male dominating society either it’s the incidents of weeping a Nirbhaya at mid night on road or that harassment she have to go through to survive in her carrier, to maintain her professional life with her dignity or either it’s the violence that a housewife go through by her in laws and so may uncountable cases.

It was just a small effort to change the caged thoughts of this judgemental society. This NATAK was a message to that entire conservative minded people because of whom women feels imprisoned and emotionally tortured and frustrated both physically and mentally.

Not just this but after this, all the staff appreciated the NATAK and respected HOD sir also interacted with the audience regarding the issue and its cause. Not just that, but even the participant is appreciated by handing an appreciation certificate to all the team.

Since violence is in the mind, it’s in the mind that change begins. When you make a gift to Team Change, you create a tiny piece of change. In the way people think. A 14-year-old stands up to her family and says she wants to study, not marry. A mother tells her son her story of sexual violence. A father sets a new tradition in his village by celebrating the birth of his daughter with much fanfare.

That tiny piece of change happens because of the choice you make at this moment.

You choose – to not wait for change, but to make it happen. You choose – to take action for the rights for girls everywhere, to an education, to safety, to a living, to life.

When you choose to make a donation and become a part of Team Change, it’s just the beginning. In the months to come, we will take you through the work we do on the ground to make change happen. We will show you how you can be involved, in your own special way. And you’ll find yourself standing together with hundreds of other people who care deeply about creating change, just like you.

Change is a choice you make today. And when change comes, you can be proud that you played a part in bringing it home.
