    NCE -851- PROJECT

    On completion of the project, the students will be able to
    RCE 851.1 Identify complex civil engineering problems based on current state of art and demonstrate knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and domain knowledge in civil Engineering to the solution of complex engineering problems
    RCE 851.2 Demonstrate an ability to understand the design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental considerations
    RCE 851.3 Demonstrate the research based knowledge to systematize the research methods including design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data with an understanding of the limitation and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions within the specified time frame
    RCE 851.4 Understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in social, ethical, environmental, and cultural contexts and demonstrate the knowledge of and need for sustainable development
    RCE 851.5 Understand and apply engineering principles and modern tools to achieve the specified objectives.

    NOe -081- Non -conventional Energy Resources

    On completion of this course, the students will be able to
    NOe 081.1 Distinguish various conventional & non -conventional energy resources and its applications in various fields to minimize energy use in devices and buildings.
    NOe 081.2 Comprehend the overall solar energy and power plants based on it, their application, performance & limitations.
    NOe 081.3 Develop an ability to understand resources of geothermal energy, about MHD and Fuel cells, based plants with their performance and limitations.
    NOe 081.4 Analyze principle of working of thermo-electrical, thermionic conversion and Wind power and its sources with an assessment skill of the relative costs of energy conservation and energy production in various applications.
    NOe 081.5 Describe the availability & working of bio-mass, OTEC, wave & tidal wave, Waste Recycling plants.

    NCE -052- analysis and design of Hydraulic structures

    On completion of this course, the students will be able to
    NCE 052.1 Analyse theories of failure of hydraulic structures on permeable foundations.
    NCE 052.2 Design Falls, distributary head and cross regulators.
    NCE 052.3 Design of weirs, barrages and canal regulators.
    NCE 052.4 Design the cross drainage works.
    NCE 052.5 Apply concept of flood routing.
    NCE 052.6 Analyse the principles of designs of earth and gravity dams and their spillways and hydropower development .

    NCE -053-Water Resources systems

    On completion of this course, the students will be able to

    NCE 053.3 Analyse optimization techniques in water resources systems by linear and dynamic programming.

    NCE -063-Ground Water Management

    On completion of this course, the students will be able to
    NCE 063.1 Understand the various   aspects of  hydrological cycle & definitions, occurrence of ground water, hydro-geology & aquifers, ground water movement, darcy’s law, flow-nets 
    NCE 063.2 Understand steady and unsteady flow through confined and unconfined aquifers, dupuits theory, well hydraulics, mutual interference of wells, well losses, specific capacity.
    NCE 063.3  Design the water wells and pumping equipment for water wells.
    NCE 063.4  Understand ground water quality, contamination of groundwater and its control, ground water modeling techniques and ground water exploration .
    NCE 063.5 Learn the applicability  aspects of  ground water management techniques
    NCE 063.6 Understand groundwater budgeting, groundwater modeling & stimulation, application of gIS and remote sensing in groundwater management .

    NCE -801-Transportation Engineering-2

    On completion of this course, the students will be able to
    NCE 801.1 Understand the various aspects of permanent way and component of Indian Railways.
    NCE 801.2 Design track geometrics, turnouts, crossings, stations and yards and their technical designs.
    NCE 801.3 Understand the signaling and interlocking of Indian Railways with their applications.
