The Department of Computer Applications, established in the year 2003 is one of the oldest and pioneer departments of Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology. It offers the two year Post Graduate Program – Masters of Computer Applications (MCA), which is affiliated to Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). It has highly qualified, committed and research-oriented faculty members who share the mission and vision of the institution in imparting quality education to the students. The focus of the Department is to develop and to strengthen young minds to make them globally competitive by inculcating the capabilities of critical thinking, problem solving, analysis, design, research, team work, communication skills, and readiness for lifelong learning in areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things and Blockchain.
To keep itself abreast with latest developments in Computer Applications, the department makes extensive efforts to develop partnerships with industry. The department enjoys the privilege of having spacious and well-equipped laboratories that provide students, the industrial environment much needed for real life training. The department offers various seminars, workshops, symposia and entrepreneurship development programmes for the students to enable them keep pace with the rapid changes in the field of Computer Applications. To enhance the technical skills and awareness, students are also motivated and inspired to participate in seminars and technical festivals etc.
The Program inculcates the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, and equip the students with the skills to visualise, synthesize and execute the projects. There are plethora of companies like Cognizant, Accenture, IBM, Wipro and many others that recruit the passing out students each year through campus placement. The department is committed to groom the students to meet today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.
