Alumni talk series on “Impact of AI in future job roles”

One Day seminar on “Impact of AI in future job roles” was conducted by EEE Dept. of GCET, Greater. The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on future job roles is profound, reshaping the landscape of employment across various industries. While AI promises increased efficiency, productivity, and innovation, it also brings about significant changes in the nature of work. Routine and repetitive tasks are increasingly being automated, leading to a shift in job requirements towards roles that demand higher-order cognitive skills, creativity, and emotional intelligence-qualities that machines currently struggle to replicate. This evolution necessitates a focus on upskilling and reskilling for the workforce to adapt to the changing demands of the job market. Additionally, AI is likely to create new job categories, particularly in fields such as AI development, data science, and machine learning. The collaborative integration of humans and AI is emerging as a key aspect, emphasizing the augmentation of human capabilities rather than replacement. While certain job roles may be phased out, the overall impact of AI on the future job market is expected to be transformative, requiring proactive strategies to navigate and harness the opportunities that arise.
