Event Detailed Description
The "Break & Build: HR Policies" activity was organized by The People's Pulse Club, Department of Management Studies at GCET on 30th March 2026, commencing at 3:00 PM. The activity had a total duration of 2 hours and brought together students to participate in a structured and thought-provoking exercise centered around the critical evaluation and redesigning of Human Resource policies of Multinational Companies (MNCs).
Students participated in groups of a maximum of 5 members per group. Each group was assigned or selected an HR policy of an MNC and collaborated to analyse it in detail. The activity followed a clear and structured flow: groups first examined the selected HR policy thoroughly, identified loopholes or gaps within it, suggested practical and strategic improvements, prepared a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) summarising their analysis and recommendations, and finally presented their solutions within an assigned time slot of 15 minutes per group.
The presentations demonstrated a strong understanding of corporate HR frameworks and showcased the students' ability to apply academic knowledge to real-world MNC scenarios. Teams were evaluated on the depth of their analysis, identification of relevant loopholes, creativity and feasibility of their proposed solutions, and the clarity and effectiveness of their PPT presentations.
Faculty members and mentors from the Department of Management Studies facilitated the sessions, providing guidance and evaluating teams based on the quality of their analysis, creativity of their solutions, and depth of their strategic thinking. The activity provided a platform for students to apply concepts from Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Labour Law in a practical and engaging manner.
The activity concluded with a debrief session where faculty members shared their observations and feedback with all participating teams. Students were appreciated for their creative thinking, practical approach, and professional presentation skills. The event was well-received by all participants and proved to be a highly enriching academic exercise. As the announcement aptly stated: "Let's decode, analyze, and improve HR practices like true professionals!"
