Expertise

Dr. Puneet Kumar earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, under AcSIR, with a specialization in Natural Product Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry. He also holds an M.S. (Pharm.) in Medicinal Chemistry from NIPER, Mohali. With more than 3 years of combined research and academic experience, Dr. Kumar has contributed significantly to drug discovery through roles as a Project Associate in multiple CSIR missions, including the Phytopharmaceutical Mission and Aroma Mission. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Bhagwant Institute of Pharmacy, Muzaffarnagar, for one year. He has authored over 11 publications in reputed international journals, covering natural product isolation, organic synthesis, and drug development. His expertise spans isolation and semi-synthetic modification of phytoconstituents, structure–activity relationship studies, targeted biological screening, and preclinical drug development, including IND-directed research on anticancer molecules. He is proficient in advanced spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques (HPLC, LC-MS, NMR) and computational tools for molecular docking. Dr. Kumar’s research focuses on the design and development of novel bioactive scaffolds, bridging natural product chemistry with modern medicinal chemistry to address diseases such as cancer, inflammation, and microbial infections.
