Department of Artificial Intelligence

The Department of Artificial Intelligence at Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) was established with the objective of addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the domain of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems. The department offers an undergraduate engineering programme (B.Tech – Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence)) and is dedicated to imparting quality education, cutting-edge skills, and industry-oriented training in emerging AI technologies.

The programme is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of Artificial Intelligence with a strong emphasis on applications, supported by a judicious blend of core computer science fundamentals, mathematical foundations, and advanced AI techniques. The department emphasizes the effective use of modern learning tools and pedagogies for the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Role-play, case studies, project-based learning, practical exposure, assignments, quizzes, seminars, guest lectures, industry–academia interaction, internships, and industry visits form an integral part of the teaching–learning process.

The curriculum is structured in alignment with AICTE and NBA guidelines and provides not only strong technical foundations but also exposure to recent and emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Data Science, Big Data Analytics, and Generative AI. The department strongly believes in the philosophy of “learning by doing”, enabling students to develop practical, application-oriented problem-solving skills rather than limiting learning to theoretical concepts.
