Functions Of IQAC

The IQAC at GEI plays a vital role for assuring and improving the quality of education and the general operation of the institution. Key functions of an IQAC in an engineering college include:

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the college.
  • Oversight of academic programs, teaching-learning processes, and assessment procedures by the Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
  • Constant monitoring, evaluation, and recommendation of enhancements through regular auditing (Twice in a Semester), data analysis, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Facilitation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation for participatory teaching and learning processes.
  • Arrangement and analysis of feedback from students, parents, and stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes, followed by appropriate measures.
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters.
  • Organization of inter and intra college workshops, seminars on quality-related themes, and promotion of quality circles.
  • Assistance in preparing for accreditation processes by regulatory authorities such as NBA and NAAC and ensuring compliance with their criteria.
  • Documentation of various programs/activities contributing to quality improvement.
  • Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audits and follow-up actions.

The IQAC functions as a tool to promote a culture of quality awareness and ongoing enhancement in all areas of the GEI.
