Laboratory Facilities of the Applied Sciences & Humanities Department

The Applied Sciences & Humanities Department offers a well-organised set of laboratories designed to support the foundational learning of B. Tech first-year students. These labs offer hands-on exposure to core subjects, enabling students to understand the scientific and communication concepts essential for their engineering journey.

The department currently operates:

  • Two Physics Laboratories - Equipped with experimental setups that allow students to explore optics, electricity, magnetism and modern physics concepts through practical investigation.
  • One Chemistry Laboratory - Outfitted with essential instruments and materials for experiments related to engineering chemistry, chemical analysis, and analytical techniques.
  • Two English Language Laboratories - Designed with audio-visual tools and language-learning software to help students strengthen communication skills, pronunciation, and technical English proficiency.

All laboratories are equipped with up-to-date equipment, adequate consumables, and the required safety resources. The facilities are structured to ensure that students can connect classroom theory with practical application, fostering better understanding and confidence.

Each lab is supervised by trained technical staff who oversee maintenance, assist in the smooth conduct of sessions, and ensure adherence to safety guidelines. The department follows a planned budgeting process to regularly upgrade equipment, replace consumables, and introduce new teaching tools whenever needed.
